I was born and raised in Cheraw, South Carolina, which is located in the Pee Dee region of our great state. After high school I attended Winthrop University and graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Sociology. I have been in education for the past eleven years where I have taught Social Studies for 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades at four different schools. During this time I was also head baseball coach at Lakewood High School and an assistant at Hartsville High School. While in the classroom I felt a higher calling to help more students than just the ones that were in my classroom so I decided to go after my Masters in order to become a school leader. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Masters in Educational Administration in 2017. I will now be starting my first year as an Assistant Principal at the best school in the state because you can not spell best with out BES, Barnwell Elementary School!
